Anglian Section Notes, November 2017

Chris Reynold’s newly commissioned 1936 Ariel VB and Swallow Jet 80 outfit was the outright winner at this year’s Concours event, held, as usual, at the Hoops, Barton. Graham Waters organised the event, but this year brought in external caterers for the BBQ, which gave him a rest after many years of doing it himself! Thanks are also due to the Cake Fairies, who flew in from the Eltisley direction with their trays of goodies. With blue skies and temperatures around 20C, the 1930s Run on the 24th of September was bound to be a success. 32 riders signed on for an enjoyable ride around south Cambridgeshire / north Essex. Thanks to organisers Mel Vinton and Roger Johnson, and to the ladies of Arkeseden village for the tea and cakes. At the November club night we are due to have a speaker, whose subject is “Flight”.
